Yearbook!

We are very busy in P7! It is that time of year when we are working very hard on our yearbook. We have taken time to reflect on our time not just in P7 but over the years at Williamston. It has been lovely to look back on the many experiences and opportunities that we have had and consider the highlights of our time here. We have put together personal pieces of writing for our yearbook and have worked hard to make these detailed and full of our thoughts, feelings and reflections. We cannot believe it is nearly time to move on to High School and are feeling excited yet nervous about the future ahead!

P7 are back and ready to learn!

P7 had a wonderful holiday and have had a busy first week back! We have not stopped talking about all of the wonderful adventures we have been on and have a fresh mind for our last term at Williamston Primary School!
This can be a sad term for the pupils in P7 as they look back at all of the exciting years they have had here, and look to the future and the exciting times that lie ahead.

We have been working very hard on our Young Writer entries this week, we are making sure we add lots of description and detail. We have also had Miss Hao back with us and we have been reading, writing and pronouncing Chinese numbers. Also we have started our yearbook entries which is a bit nerve racking and exciting to realise that high school is upon us! Primary 7 are really looking forward to the term ahead!

Outstanding Olivia!

P7 have had a fantastic time performing their spectacular junior production of Olivia! Our final performance was for the infants on Monday afternoon and we cannot believe it is all over!
Everyone gave it their all and were so enthusiastic which allowed us to create an outstanding atmosphere, not just within the cast but in the audience too!
This show was definitely not put together over night as we remember just sitting with a script and a hope that it would all come together in time.
Our show included so many different characters from a different range of plays, novels and movies which made it such an exciting story.
P7 would like to thank everyone for coming along and giving lots of support, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!

Williamston waves update!

Hello everyone Williamston Waves crew here! This year we have been up to lots of things. We have had many themed weeks like Comic Relief and Fairtrade fortnight. We love telling our viewers our top three things of the week, news and weather, Williamston achievements, sports and world news. Unfortunately we will not be on this week but we will be back on after the Easter break. There will be more laughs more jokes and even more fun. Oh and keep your eyes open for some competitions! Our notice board is outside the lunch hall.

Olivia the musical!

P7 are having an amazing time working on our Junior Production of ‘Olivia’, which includes lots of different characters from other musicals, books and films.
We have already started on our dress rehearsals while the prop and art group have been working on backdrops and props. The choreography and ICT groups have also been working especially hard to get everything together in time.
As for the cast, they have been working very hard on their lines, singing and accents as well as acting!
We can’t wait to show everyone our hard work and we hope you enjoy it!

Basketball fun

P7 were lucky enough to participate in a basketball lesson lead by students from West Lothian College. We developed skills such as passing the ball, dribbling and shooting. We then had the opportunity to play in a mini basketball tournament. This was a fantastic experience and we could really see an improvement in our skills in basketball.

P7 Chinese with Miss Sum!

In Primary 7 we have been having lots of fun learning all about the Chinese culture. It has been a brilliant experience for us all. We have been looking at lots of different Chinese art such as paper cutting, lanterns and much more. We have also been learning about Chinese New Year and the twelve zodiac animals. We got the opportunity to make a collection of cards with one of the 12 zodiac animals on each of them for our families. We have also been learning lots about the Chinese language, which we have been finding very interesting as it is so different to our own.
Over all we have had a great experience with Miss Sum so far and can’t wait to learn much more in our next session with her.

Showcase preparations!

P7 are having a wonderful time working with Miss Sum. We have been learning how to do some paper cutting and some of it was very complex! We used a growth mindset approach to ensure we were confident when taking on a new challenge. We cannot wait to show what we have been learning at our Cluster Chinese New Year showcase soon!
