A welcome return to P4

We are delighted to have our class back, we missed you all!

P4 have made a positive start to the new school year. We have spent lots of time reviewing our school values and ensuring we are following these and trying our best. We have settled into our new routines and working very hard already.

We have begun our new maths topic of place value. This year we are working with Hundreds, Tens and Ones, learning how to partition and  recognise greater and less than.

In RE we have been studying the incredible lives of some Saints who have their feast days in August. We were very interested to learn of St. Bernard and St. Rose of Lima.

We also made a start on our new IDL topic of Europe and we are looking forward to using maps and atlases to learn about the physical  continent  and to learn about the cultures  of some of the countries.

Primary 6 M are off to a flying start !

P6 M  have been busy getting back into all of our school routines . We have been creating our Class Charter.

We discussed the importance  of following our School Values and showing respect and kindness towards ourselves , our peers,  our school staff,  our families and our community.

Our SHANARRI Characters remind us of our rights and our needs for good health and  well being for both ourselves and others.

In PE we got off  to a flying start and really enjoyed being back at our sessions with Mrs McMaster. Wednesday is our PE day .

We decided that we want to learn more digital technology and have been spending time this  week looking at Microsoft Word and using that to create posters and for our class Space project ! Watch this space !

Primary 5 are smashing it!

Welcome back Primary 5 and what a first two weeks we are having! We are showing super listening skills and are embodying the school values. We are creating our class charter and have also been discussing why learning and taking pride in our work is so important.

For our class story this term we will focus on the works of Roald Dahl – we have already read The Magic Finger and are now reading Fantastic Mr Fox. In  our smaller reading groups we are learning to summarise, predict, clarify and question.

In numeracy we are focussing on the four operations with a focus on multiplication. This week we have learned how to make arrays and use multiplication grids.

We are also having lots of fun – we start the day with fun challenges, and are enjoying creative play. We have set up a Scotmid Shop in our creative corner and are setting up a football theme in our doll’s house. We are also looking forward to Football Mondays.

Primary 5 I’m so excited about the year ahead – I know you are going to smash it so go Team Primary 5!

Rannoch News

An action packed week in Rannoch…We have focused on numbers to 10 in Numeracy and are working hard on practising our number formation. We have also learned more in our Literacy activities in terms of ordering the alphabet and recognising initial sounds. A great week of progress!

We have also enjoyed playing together and listening to songs and stories to help our learning.

We have also spent time outside on the Trim Trail and have enjoyed our time in the P.E. hall.

Back to school for Primary 7

What a fantastic first week back in Primary 7 with lots of new learning. We have discussed our school values and what is expected of us as Primary 7 roles models. We have decided respected will be at the forefront of our learning over the coming weeks and are doing hard to show respect to all our class mates, teachers and everyone in the school. We have created our class charter, put our teamwork and sportsmanship skills into action, create our own board games and even managed to finish the week off with a Just Dance to unwind.
Keep up the good work Primary 7, your teacher is proud of you all.

P1 M’s final week !

We have reached the last day of Primary 1.   We have had lots of new experiences and fun.  We are ready to start P2 .    We hope everyone has a lovely holiday and we will see you in August !

Mrs Moffat

Here we are clearing our growing box and then planting our crops of peas, basil and sunflowers.    We hope they grow well .

These are our fantastic  minature Fairyland models.  We chose different fairyland themes – Jack and the Beanstalk, The Three Little Pigs and Golsilocks and the Three Bears.   Our P7 buddies helped us to design and make these.

P3 at the Safari Park

Today we had a fantastic day at Blair Drummond Safari Park. We loved playing in the adventure playground and sliding down the big bumpy slide. It was so much fun and some of us found it a bit too fast.
We made sure we saw most of the animals. We saw elephants, camels, giraffes, lions, tigers, lemurs, penguins, rhinos, an ostrich, prairie dogs and newly born baby frogs!
We then walked through the Jurassic Park area where we encountered lots of moving, roaring dinosaurs. We had fun humming the theme tune on our way round.

We loved it. We were so well behaved and stayed together as a group,  we were a credit to St Mary’s, Well done primary 3.

P1 M Catch up on Samba Band Friday !

What a busy time we’ve had over the last couple of weeks.  Here we are presenting our Assembly to our parents and our school community.

We did a fantastic job speaking and remembering our lines.

Our peas and sunflowers have been growing well in the classroom and it was time to give them more room to grow, so here we are preparing our planting box.    It was hard work pulling out the weeds from last season.  Watch this space to see our newly planted veg and flowers.

We learned some new hairdressing skills this week  during our play sessions.  It was great fun . Our appointment book has a few spaces, so call and book to upgrade your look.

We have been reading lots of fairy tales this term and since Goldilocks was a favourite we decided that we needed to try out some porridge and fruit for ourselves.    We chopped up banana and strawberries to go with the porridge which was just right  !

And finally here we are playing our percussion instruments on Samba Band Friday  We love playing along to music on the Smartboard and getting in the mood for the weekend !   Have a good one !
