P1 Family Campfire

Today was our turn to share stories with our parents and carers  around the campfire. We wrote and illustrated our own version of Dear Santa and we enjoyed reading it to our families. We then were gifted  Bookbug Bags and this time our parents and carers  read a story to us. We all loved a cosy cup of hot chocolate and roasting marshmallow on the campfire to make s’mores. What a fantastic day. Thank-you to everyone who was able to attend.

Christmas Fun in P1

Advent has arrived and so has all the busy preparations in primary 1. We have been using our creative art skills to make a Christmas poster to display in the dining hall. We made paper plate angels and decorated them with glitter, doilies and feathers.

We have also been enterprising this week and making some crafts to sell at the Christmas Fayre. We made reindeer food and calendars. We went in to the woods for some special photos to use on our calendars.  We discussed how much money we think we should charge for each item. We hope you will love them enough to buy them at the Fayre. We had time to explore, climb and play.

Christmas Craft Club

We had another fun week at Christmas Craft club.

We made concertina Christmas trees. Concentrating hard we folded them and then decorated them with sequence.

Lots of us made paperchain snowmen, linking the paper together to build our snowmen.

Lego, playdough and colouring in Christmas themed pictures was also lots of fun! We are looking forward to next weeks club!

Primary 1 – Catholic Education Week

Communion, Participation, Mission.

This Week, all Catholic Schools across Scotland are celebrating CATHOLIC EDUCATION WEEK.  The theme for this special week is Communion Participation, Mission.

Communion – We travel towards God together.

Participation – We join in at Mass.

Mission – We tell others about God’s Word.

Today, we focused on how we can participate in Mass.  The children watched a lovely little story about going to Mass and shared their personal stories about going to Mass with their families, or at school.  They then drew pictures and wrote stories about how they can join in at Mass.

Look at these beautiful stories from our Primary 1 stars!
