Today Primary 1S have had a very tasty Christmas lunch.
We listened to Christmas music. We had the choice of Turkey, Steak Pie and Pasta.
We’re so excited for Christmas and are having so much fun. 🎅🏻

Primary 1S have been busy!
Good morning everyone and happy Monday!
Primary 1S have had a busy few weeks at St Mary’s. 
We had so much fun at our spooktacular Halloween party where we played games, danced and had lots of fun.
We’ve been working super hard on our number work, counting up to 30 and back again.
We‘ve even managed to get out for some outdoor learning. We were working collaboratively using the crisp autumn leaves to create a picture/image in the grass.
Looking forward to another busy week packed with fun activities!

Health Week in Primary 3!
Primary 3 have had the most amazing week! A massive thank you to our Health and Wellbeing team for organising a fantastic week which was packed with lots of fun activities.
On Tuesday, we participated in classroom yoga, went for a walk in our local community, played handball and judo. We made smoothies and watched the Staff V Pupils netball with ice poles, in the wonderful sun.
On Wednesday, Primary 3 had P.E with Mr Boles and learned more about mindfulness.
On Thursday, we went to One Mind Martial Arts and had a great time. We participated in exercise to music, we danced and made Fruit Kebabs. Then, a very interesting football player came in to tell us all about her job.
Finally, on Friday we played in our local park, attended a mini first aid course and exercised in the kick pitch to finish off the day!
Cooking Club
This week at cooking club we made tasty burgers.
We had lost of fun mixing the ingredients and using our hands to shape the burgers.
We look forward to cooking again next week!
Litter Picking in Primary 3
On this beautiful sunny Tuesday , Primary 3 have been out litter picking in our school grounds.
We used our fine motor skills to collect the litter with our pickers. In pairs, one of us picked and the other collected in bin bags.
We couldn’t believe the amount of rubbish we found and collected.
To finish off, we used chunky chalk to create some images of plants and animals which is our new Science topic.
Primary 3
This week we participated in world book day celebrations! We arrived to school in our pyjamas and brought a book in. We joined in with the BBC live lessons and had lots of fun using our imaginations!
During the week, we had to work as a team to recall our 2, 5 and 10 times table. We recorded our working in the playground using chalk.
To finish off our week we participated in Lenten Bingo.
Some of our Primary 3 friends won some prizes.
Another wonderful week in Primary 3, where we ‘believe to achieve’.
Primary 3
This week we learned about Shrove Tuesday and discussed why it’s sometimes referred to as ‘Pancake Day’. We discussed its significance in our liturgical calendar and thought about ways in which we could prepare for Lent. To finish off our learning, we enjoyed some pancakes, syrup, jam and fruit.
This week we continued our learning of Reconciliation and supported our peers who were making their Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday evening.
As we welcome the very busy month of March, we look forward to welcoming you into our school later this month for our class assembly.

Cooking Club
We’ve had a brilliant second week at cooking club.
This week, we worked in pairs to make pizza. We had to mix and make the dough base and then decide on our toppings. Once our toppings were on, we popped them onto trays, ready for the oven.
We had lots of fun and look forward to making some more food in 2 weeks time.
Primary 3
What a fantastic start to the New Year we’ve had in Primary 3!
We’ve started this term by making some great New Years Resolutions for the things we’d like to work on in 2023. Everyone in Primary 3 has worked super hard and should be so proud of themselves.
In Primary 3 we ‘Believe to Achieve’. We’ve decided we’re going to use this phrase to remind us to work hard, have courage and believe in ourselves. This ties in nicely with our school values. In Numeracy, we’ve been learning about multiplication and division and their relationship to each other. We’ve been having extra practice of spelling and grammar on top of our usual Read Write Ink. We have introduced our new IDL topic, ‘Greyfriars Bobby’.
Just a small reminder:
- Tuesday and Wednesday are P.E. days. Please remember your school uniform on these days.
- Homework is issued via Seesaw on Monday and is asked to be returned for Thursday. This includes Read Write Ink reading books.

Primary 3
It has been a super busy few weeks in Primary 3, packed with lots of fun!
We have learned our 2, 5 and 10 times tables and have been using digital resources to help us consolidate this.
We had our family join us for a cosy campfire. We had written our own book for Scottish Book Week and we were able to read these with our family. We enjoyed some hot chocolate, smores and some play time.
As we approach the festive season, we’ve been practicing mindfulness and meditation to calm and regulate our waves of excitement.
We’ve been learning about the story of the nativity and have been rehearsing for our performance later this week.
