Last week of term in Primary 1๐ŸŽ„

What a busy week in Primary 1!
We all had lots of fun at our first school Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ party.

A special visitor came to our party and gave us all a gift ๐ŸŽ

On ย Tuesday we made some gingerbread Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ cookies ๐Ÿช. We had to use lots skills, rolling, mixing, cutting and many more. It was lots of fun, and tasty ๐Ÿ˜‹

The Primary 5,6 and 7 put on a Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ Concert for us, we were a very respectful audience and enjoyed listening to them sing.

In number work this week we used our number skills to colour in Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ pictures. We had to use our adding and subtracting strategies to work out the correct colours to use.

We also got to enjoy some time in the sensory room this week which was lots of fun, we all decided we would like to go back again after the holidays.

During literacy we wrote letters to Santa ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป we thought about how old we were and what we had already asked Santa for.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ and look forward to lots of learning in the new year ๐ŸŽ†

Primary 1

Primary one had their first class trip this week, we set off to watch the Snow White Pantomime. This was super exciting, we had to travel together on the bus ๐ŸšŒ and we took our snacks with us. The show was great, a little scary at times, but we all enjoyed joining in.

On Wednesday we had Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ dinner and Christmas jumper day in school.

On Friday we performed our Christmas Nativity show, we are all so proud of ourselves and we hope all the grown ups enjoyed it as much as we did.

Our elf has been up to lots of fun and some mischief this week, as well as spying on us for Santa! We are really enjoying having Cookie Crumble as part of our class.

Have a great weekend ๐Ÿ˜€

December in P1

Wow what an exciting time in Primary 1, Santa ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป has sent one of his elfโ€™s to our classroom. He brought us a Christmas tree ๐ŸŽ„ all the way from the North Pole and left us some things to decorate it with.

We have also decorated our classroom door for Christmas ๐ŸŽ„

We have been working super had practicing the Nativity show and are looking forward to performing it for you next week!

In RE we learned about St Andrew and that he is the patron saint of Scotland ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ to celebrate this we made our very own Scotland ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ flags.

Our writing inspiration for this week was The Elf, we drew our own elfโ€™s and described them as well as giving them a cheeky name.

On Friday Cookie Crumble left us instructions and ingredients to grow our own candy canes . Special soil, a candy cane seed and some special elf magic.

We also attended the school start of advent mass. We were very respectful and joined in when we could.

Have a lovely weekend.

Cooking ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ Club P1&2

Itโ€™s sweet week! We made chocolate filled croissants ๐Ÿฅ.

We had had to use cutting skills for todayโ€™s cooking ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿณ we cut the pastry into triangles and then rolled our chocolate ๐Ÿซ in the pastry ๐Ÿฅ. We had to paint them with milk before we cooked them.

A adult had to put them in the oven and set the timer. We could smell them cooking, they smelled delicious.

Primary 1

This week we started of by learning all about the Jubilee 2025 and what it means to be Pilgrims of Hope!

We set off on a pilgrimage around the school looking for signs of our faith.

Pledge Cards were also created as we thought about what we could do to be Pilgrims of Hope.

During outdoor learning we painted with mud! We had never painted with mud before and it was lots of fun.

Lots of us brought in our favourite toy or a poster of our favourite toy to complete our class talks. We all did very well.

And on Friday we got to join in the school Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ ย Fair.

Eveyone is excited that next week is December. Have a lovely weekend.

Primary 1 & 2 Cooking club

It was savoury week in cooking club and everyone had voted to make pizza ๐Ÿ•

We had to spread the sauce on then add the cheese ๐Ÿง€ and toppings. After all the toppings were on we had to put them in the oven, only adults are allowed to use the cooker but we set the timer.โฑ๏ธ

While the pizzas ๐Ÿ• were cooking we cleaned up all our tools. Some of us wanted to eat them straight away and some wanted to take them home.

Book Week in Primary 1

Primary 1 kicked off book week listening to some authors read their books aloud. We chose the books that were included in our book bags.

On Monday afternoon we had a book bag gifting party ๐ŸŽ‰ in class. Some parents came along and we shared biscuits and hot chocolate โ˜•๏ธ with marshmallows. We looked inside our book bags and created our very own pet star โญ after we listened to the story โ€œMy Pet Starโ€.

On Tuesday, as well as listening to story โ€œOne Goose two Mooseโ€ we participated in the school book swap. Many of us had handed books in to swap and we all loved going to the book swap and brining one, two or three books home. Happy reading ๐Ÿ“–.

On Wednesday we joined a whole school reading river. Our buddies joined us and helped us to read a story, the river was very long.

On Thursday we wrote book reviews and made potato ๐Ÿฅ” characters. We enjoyed picking a character and trying to make our potato look like it.

Friday was dress as a book character or in pjs this was lots of fun.

Primary 1

Primary one learned all about remembrance day this week. We participated in a whole school assembly led by Primary 6 ,everyone was wry respectful during the two items silence. Back in class we made our own poppies using our handprints.

During Outdoor learning we went up to the local woodland area with our clipboards to complete a treasure hunt. We all really enjoy exploring the woodland area.

Throughout the week we have been practicing our Christmas Nativity show, this is our first time on the stage performing and we are all doing very well. If we have a speaking part it would be really good to practice our words at home.

As we have our first school Christmas ๐ŸŽ„ fair coming up we have been working like Santa’s elfโ€™s and making some unique things to sell.

The iPads are very popular in class and we are all becoming very independent at putting in the code and accessing Sumdog and games, we all found this very tricky to start with.

Have a lovely weekend.
