Primary 1 Learning Highlights 24th November 2023

This week we have been practising for our Nativity performance. We are very good at singing all the songs and saying the lines we need to. We all now have our parts and we are looking forward to practising in the hall next week.

In maths, we have been learning different strategies for addition. We can use our finger patterns, a numberline and we have learned to keep a number in our head and count on. We also learned the number bonds for 8 and 9.

In literacy, we have been learning the sounds ‘h’ and ‘u’. We have been practising building words with the magnetic boards and trying hard to remember the middle sound. In writing, we wrote a sentence about a cat in a hat. We used our common words and tried to sound out and write the words.

Well done to Lewis who is this week’s Hot Chocolate Winnner!
