P4b Learning highlights 24th November

This week Primary 4 have had fun doing spelling, dancing and topic.

Our spelling pattern this week was ‘ur’ and we made sure to get lots of practice at spelling words with the ‘ur’ pattern.

For our numeracy this week we focussed on subtraction using the column method and introduced borrowing/exchanging.

We wrote spells this week for our writing which will be going into a spell book we are making for our magic castle.

In PE we have been doing party dances and country dancing. On Thursday we teamed up with p4a and learned a new dance. Everyone had lots of fun and it was great to see everyone participating.

In our RE this week, we learned a bit about St Andrew in preparation for St Andrews day this week.

We have started to create our half castle, half Christmas door for our class and the kids had lots of fun. We split up into 5 groups with each group having a group leader who took responsibility in making sure everyone in their group knew what they were doing and kept everyone busy and working hard. Making our door involves a lot of different parts which each group is responsible for making, so it is important that our group leaders keep the groups on task and working hard. They all did an excellent job of this and everyone enjoyed starting the door. I have included some pictures of the kids all working hard on each different part of it.

Our Owlry is almost done and Mrs Ross along with the kids have been working hard to make the panels for our walls.

We went to mass today with primary 3 and the children in p4b were all excellent and set a great example for Primary 3 to follow, Mrs Ross and myself were very proud of them.

Well done to our secret student winner Haadiya!

Well done to our hot chocolate winner Rowan!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and get lots of rest before our exciting week coming up,

Miss Duddy.
