Primary 1A Learning Highlights 18th November 2022

This week we have been celebrating Book Week. We got special Bookbug bags which had 3 books. We went to read in different places in the school. We went to the staffroom, the buddies’ classroom, the entrance and Mrs McKissack’s office. We even got to sit on Mrs McKissack’s chair!

On Thursday, our grown ups came in to school to help us with some activities. We made a jellyfish with a paper plate and did a book hunt. We ate a biscuit when we were reading our books and we got to sit on a cushion. It was great fun!

In maths, we have been learning about the numbers 17 and 18. We also did some addition work. We played a game called Funky Mummy to help us practice. We thought it was very funny when the Mummy was dancing.

In writing, we wrote a list of things we would take on a trip to the moon.  We have learned the sounds ‘b’ and ‘h’ this week and we are getting more confident in spelling words using the sounds we know.

As part of our Space Topic, we watched a Rocket launch. We then watched a video about the booster rockets being collected from the ocean.

Our personal highlights this week are:

Lillian – I have enjoyed learning about counting up to 20.

Olga – I have enjoyed doing drawing.

Connor – I liked drawing stuff for people in my class.

Summer – I enjoyed reading.

Vedansh – I enjoyed colouring in the rocket.

Mohitha – I enjoyed drawing the planets.

Congratulations to Joshua who is this week’s Hot Chocolate Winner. Well done to Eve who is our reading champion!
