The sun shone as Connnolly House joined us for Launch Day of Walk a Mile! P5/6 had kindly made us celebration MIlly Mile flags to send us on our way ! Some pupils have already improved their fitness and are completing up to 2 miles in 15 minutes -a super improvement!

Earth Hour 2016….
This year we are hoping to create our own recycled lanterns to raise awareness and shut down our devices that use energy on the 19th March.
P4/5 are hoping to organise and run a Book Swap Stall so we can recycle stories, save energy and enjoy reading something new all for FREE! Please bring in any books you have finished with and are happy to swap……….

Pancake Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Internet Safety Week and Our Feast Day celebrations.
We are going to the Church for the 9.30am on Ash Wednesday service and then again on Friday for the Feast Day mass.
On Friday, we are having our Feast Day disco also and it is a non-uniform day for this.

Monday’s Assembly 1st February
Today our focus was on Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) and the Health and Well being indicators – SHANARRI. We talked about what GIRFEC means and about what SHANARRI stands for.
S- safe, H – healthy, A- active, N – nurtured, A – active, R- responsible, R- respected and I – included.
This month’s assemblies are going to focus on Safe.
Over the course of the month we will be talking about : feeling safe, our rights, having adults that we trust and can talk to, what makes us feel safe, what could we can do to make us even safer, getting better at risk assessing, developing resilience and building self confidence.

Hello and Welcome to the electronic healthy reading scheme for children and young people in West Lothian. This set of evidence based books are available now in West Lothian libraries for children and young people/parents/carers and staff. Everyone is able to access these books simply by being a member of West Lothian Council libraries. The attachment named “Healthyreadlaunch” gives you information about the scheme and step by step instructions about how to access these books. The other 2 attachments include lists of books included in the scheme, age guidance and descriptors of the books themselves.
