Small World Space
The P6/7 Nurture Group grafted again in the garden today and created this small world space for the infants in one corner of our garden. We hope to see the infants out there soon with cars, animals and dinosaurs having fun.
Outside Maths
We love it when the sun is shining and we can go outside for maths. This week one group were learning how to write their two times table and the other were using an array of wood to make the link between multiplication and division.
Graft!
The Nurture Group learned a new word today – graft! My goodness did they work hard, creating two new spaces in our garden. One of these is an outdoor seating area with enough log seats for a whole class. The second area is for creative play and has lots of different sizes of logs so the children can build their own creations. I think PJ deserved his lie down at the end of the afternoon.
We still have lots to do in the garden creating more spaces so more graft will be done in the coming weeks.
This week in the Nurture Groups
This week, planting and painting, jigsaw and sorting, shape, discussion and litter picking!
Counting to 70!
Mrs Love’s P3/4 maths group have been learning to count up to 70 objects by grouping them in 10s. As you can see they are doing this well now.

Making fruit salad
The Stars group were learning about kitchen hygiene this week and good cutting skills as they made a fruit salad. The result was delicious!
Developing the School Garden
The P6/7 Nurture Group applied to the Access to Education Fund in November for money to develop the school garden and discovered recently that we were awarded the £5000 we asked for!
The group have been meeting with companies this month to buy a trim trail and this week the final plans were chosen. Creative Play are hoping to build the new play area over the Easter Holidays. This is a large part of the money, the rest is also spent and we are hoping that after Easter we can get into the garden to build our outdoor classroom space and wooden building area.
Spending the money has been fun, we are hoping that playing on the trim trail next term will be even more fun!
