Linhouse Movie Star Party
Today Linhouse celebrated winning the Term 1 house cup by organising a movie themed party. Everyone in the house dressed up as a character from the movie and had a celebration in the hall, which included games, dancing, a chocolate fountain and crushed ice drinks. A big well done to Callum and Romany for organising the party, and to the P7 helpers who helped served the food and organise the games. Also a big thank you to Mrs Bokhari who helped serve the food tidy up after.
Congratulations to Linhouse!

Primary Two have been learning about people and places in the past.
This week Primary Two have been learning all about people and places in the past. We learnt about different characters and shared where we thought they might have lived and why. Rhuairdh was able to share what he knew about palace jesters. We are all looking forward to our trip to Linlithgow Palace where we will learn more about buildings in the past and people who lived in them.
Term 1 Achievement Assembly
On Friday we had our first Achievement Assembly of this session. Each class nominated one pupil to receive the Achievement Award for their class and parents and carers were invited along to watch the assembly.
We also gave out Star Writer Awards, Top Scorer prizes, JRSO certificates and announced the winning house for the term.
Well done who everyone who received an award!

P1-3 Halloween Disco
A big thank you to the PSA and all the parents and staff that helped organise and support our Halloween Disco.
House Meeting 2
Today we had our second house meeting which had a focus on our playground. First of all the vice and house captains shared with us our house logos and slogans and also the values that our house thought were the most important:
- Almondell: Friendly & Enthusiastic
- Cunnigar: Friendly & Inclusive
- Linhouse: Friendly & Enthusiastic
- Calderwood: Enthusiastic & Successful
The vice and house captains taught us a new community builder called; elephants, monkeys, helicopters and palm trees. They were taught how to play this game at peer mediator training.
Next we discussed the importance of being safe in the playground and why we need to create a playground charter. We got into groups and discussed what we should have in our playground charter, and the house and vice captains will take this information to make a school playground charter.
Thank you to our house and vice captains for organising the house meeting, and to the P7s for organising the groups.
Primary Two Share Their Learning at the Mid Calder Primary Open Afternoon
To celebrate our learning so far this term we invited our parents and families into the school so we could share what we have been learning for Money Fortnight and in our Interdisciplinary Learning which focused on traditional tales. We especially keen to share our story books that we wrote all by ourselves and we were able to show our skills when using coins to pay for items in our toy shop. Thank you to everyone who came along.
