Week Beginning 2.11.20 P3/2

What a busy week we have had! On a Tuesday and Thursday we have ERIC time, Everyone Reading In Class, we really enjoy this time. We have been working hard on spelling our new words. We have used the laptops, snakes and ladders games and a number line game to help us in maths. In our rainforest topic we have created a forest floor and had great success with the rainforest jigsaw! Look at our lovely fireworks picture!

Week beginning 26th of October

It’s been a very exciting week in Primary 2/1.  We received a letter from the friendly dragon asking for our help.  He was very sad because his Fairyland home had disappeared. Jack didn’t have a beanstalk to climb, the 3 bears don’t have anywhere to live and Miss Muffet had even lost her tuffet! Primary 2/1 were tasked with the responsibility to think of different ways we could begin to re-build Fairyland in our classroom so they can live happily ever after.  We did a fantastic job!  We wrote a letter to the friendly dragon telling him about all the different ways we are planning to transform our classroom. We are looking forward to helping our Fairyland friends.

We also started our class Nativity.  Primary 2 did a fantastic job with the narration and Primary 1 took on the variety of roles! It will be a very different Nativity this year, however, we are enjoying learning about this special story and will be able to share photos and videos.

We took part in  Halloween activities on Friday. We dressed up in spooky costumes and were able to show off our costumes over TEAMs.  A huge thankyou to Mrs Lambe for organising the sweetie bags for everyone.  We loved them!

Take a Peek at our Week- It’s Halloween

This week in Primary 6 we continued to read our class novel Wonder, we found out about ‘Precepts’ and how they are rules for life. We liked the precept – ‘WHEN GIVEN THE CHOICE ABOUT BEING RIGHT OR BEING KIND CHOOSE KIND’ . We also liked ‘YOUR DEEDS ARE YOUR MONUMENTS’. We talked about how we could apply these precepts to our own lives. We also completed our reports on ‘Treacher Collins’ syndrome and began to create our Sways…we found out how to put sound bars on our Sways. In Maths we found out how to use doubling and halving strategies to help us in Multiplication. We also investigated quadrilaterals. On Friday we dressed up for Halloween and created our own Halloween pictures.

Wb 26.10.20 in P3/2

On Tuesday this week we had some lovey weather for PE. In Maths we have been using our smartboard to investigate fact families, big maths beat that on our smart pals and our laptops for place value games. Our topic activities have included making a rainforest model, completing a 100 piece jigsaw, research with non-fiction books and playdough challenges. The best thing of all this week was our new listening station arrived! We enjoyed listening to a story all about the rainforest!

Home Learning P3/2 wb 26.10.20

Good Afternoon,

I hope you are all well. We are now able to begin home learning activities! P3/2 will now be able to access home earning on our blog. Each week children will bring home a reading book on Monday to be returned on Friday so it can be quarantined. The children will read a book from the same level in school.  The children will have brought home a learning pack today which is theirs to keep at home; please don’t bring anything back into school.

I will post new spelling words each Monday they are split into groups, Red, Blue and Yellow. In the home learning pack there is a jotter with a coloured dot on the front to show you which group words to follow. In the pack there is a spelling challenge grid that you can select spelling activities from. Please do the same with the reading challenge grid with the home reading book. There are also letter formation examples and handwriting words.  I will also post a link to a Maths game or activity each week.

These are just suggested activities for you please just do whatever suits you and your family as they work stays at home with you.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind Regards

Mrs Grant
