Dear Named Child

Thank you for listening to the story called ‘Elf on the Shelf.’ It tells us about an elf whose responsibility it is to watch over children’s behaviour and report it to Santa each night while the children are sleeping.

Glenvue Nursery are lucky to have a small team of elves. You will take home an elf for the evening and then return it to nursery the next day to allow the elf to visit another child’s home. Therefore it is very important to return Santa’s Elf on time as he has a busy schedule to complete before Christmas. To preserve the magic, the rule is that at bedtime the elf must sit on a shelf not be in your bed so that they can return to Santa with their report.  The story can also be watched on youtube if you type in ‘Elf on the Shelf families with purpose’ or copy the link:-  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6aQek-pP54

While the Elf is in your home the first job is for the family to name the elf. Elf loves to play Hide ‘n’ Seek and you can get a grown up to help you play. You can then take a photograph of the elf’s visit which can be sent direct to the nursery via email with any information or stories you wish to share. This can be sent to karen.keegan@westlothain.org.uk  We will then share the pictures and stories in the nursery and also on the Dedridge Primary/Glenvue Nursery’s School Blog. You are invited to visit the site to catch up with the Elf’s visits. Type in the search bar :-

Thank you for looking after me and be good for Santa.

Lots of Love
