Celebrating Robert Burns Day 2018

This year to Celebrate Burns Day we had a very special surprise, our West Lothian College Student Chloe and Miss Collins very kindly brought in the bagpipes and snare drum and played for all the children. Also a big thank you to Mrs McKay for cooking us a fantastic Burns supper to have for snack. We Spent the day dressing up in kilts, reading Scottish poems and stories, listening to Scottish Music, creating Tartan paintings and celebrating Scottish Culture.
Have a look at some of our photos and video clips in the Sway below…

Burns Day Celebration

We will celebrate Burns Day early, on Tuesday 23rd January, this will be part of our learning about our town, our country and it’s culture. On this day we encourage everyone to wear something tartan — we will also be tasting some haggis, neeps and tatties and listening to some Scottish music and having a try at reciting some Scottish poetry.

Book Bug Day

We are delighted to say we will be be having a special day in Nursery on Wednesday 31st January when we will be gifting the Scottish Book Trust Bookbug Bags to our ante-pre school children and other books to our pre-school children. We would like to invite parents/carers to come to nursery to share a song/story and visit from the Book Bug on the 31st January at 10.30am for morning children and 12.20pm for afternoon children.  The visit will be for approximately 30 minutes.
