As promised here is a video recorded and edited by some of the afternoon children all about safely working at the fire pit. We used our GoPro camera to record footage of how we safely make fire on the the fire pit to cook marshmallows (on this particular day) and then how to safely put the fire out. The firepit sessions last around 30 minutes however this video has been cropped to ensure it is interesting for our viewers and so there is not lots of repetition of information.
After lots of discussion with children when watching this video in nursery we have now replaced the rope circle (advised at initial staff training) with a painted circle on the grass to make it even safer.
