P1 and P7 have taken some time to get to know one another through social games and spending time with one another. Today we had lots of fun playing games in the hall.
We are delighted and proud to share that the school is now officially a ‘Reading School’ after achieving our Core Level Reading Award from the Scottish Book Trust.
A huge well done to all staff and pupils involved in this. We look forward continuing our reading journey as we hold lots of reading events throughout this year.

The pop-up shop will visit St Joseph’s tomorrow, Wednesday 26th June, with a wide range of new and nearly new clothing available at hugely reduced prices. The pop up shop is open from 12pm – 4pm to all parents and families. Payment can be made via cash or card. You do not need to book to enter.
St Joseph’s Fashion Show will also take place tomorrow in the school hall, however this is a ticketed event.
| Lyme disease is still on the rise in Scotland. It is caused by being bitten by an infected tick and can be serious if not treated. Campaign resources are available to help you communicate to parents and carers about the importance of checking for ticks this summer when enjoying the outdoors. | ||||||
| To help increase awareness of tick bites and the symptoms of Lyme disease, campaign messaging encourages the public to be more tick aware and take precautions when spending time outdoors, this includes urban green areas like parks, woodlands, beaches with long grasses and the countryside. Campaign materials highlight the preventative measures that can be taken to avoid tick bites and provide advice on what to do if bitten.

This morning, P6 spent some time playing with our nursery buddies. We had lots of fun getting to know our buddies a little better.

As part of our class topic on Democracy, P6 held a class debate today. We spoke about what activities we should do during PE. Later this week we will take a vote to decide which side wins the debate.

Today we welcomed the nursery children who will begin P1 in August. The children had the chance to meet their new ‘buddies’ and spent some time playing together in the playground.

Thank you to everyone who made it along to the ‘Play Based Learning’ parent event on Monday. The children really enjoyed sharing some of their projects and playing alongside their family members.
