St Joseph's PS Whitburn

Halloween Disco.

A reminder that the Parent Group annual Halloween disco is tomorrow. Primaries 1-3 will be in the afternoon from 1.00pm-2.30pm. Parents are welcome to collect their child/ children to take them home and get them into their costumes, returning to school for 12.50pm. Alternatively, children can bring their costumes with them and change at school.

The Disco for the children in primaries 4-7 will be in the evening from 6.00pm-7.30pm. There will be a fee of £1 which children can pay at the door.

Splish splash splosh

The children loved exploring the outdoors area in the rain today, the children had a fantastic time counting how many times they could jump in the puddles!

Nursery Halloween Party

A huge thank you to all our St Joseph’s nursery boys and girls for coming along to our Halloween parties. It was a spooktacular day from pumpkin carving to ghost bowling and potion making! All the costumes were fantastic!

1st of November Arrangements

The Feast of All Saints will be celebrated with Mass in the school at 10.00 am on Friday the 1st of November. All parishioners are welcome to join us in the celebration of Mass. The Big Spooky Read will now take place on Friday the 8th of November in the school hall between 8.30 am and 9.15 am. Children and family members are all welcome to attend and dress up in their Hallow e’en costumes to join in the fun.

Big Bed Time Read – Relaunch

The nursery had great fun today relaunching our big big time read in our pj’s with our favorite teddies! We had nice warm hot chocolate and marshmallow’s they were delicious!

Basketball

A reminder that there will be no Basketball after school club today. It will resume next week, the 29th of October 2019.

Nursery Stay & Play

The nursery children loved their stay & play this week! The children loved having you all in their learning environment and of course really enjoyed exploring the open ended baking discussing the textures, smells and flavours. Thank you to all the parents that attended!

Buddy Reading in P1

P1 enjoyed a visit from their P7 buddies this afternoon, who came down to read a story to them. The P7 children engaged beautifully with P1, reading enthusiastically with fantastic expression and fluency. The P7 children chose great quality picture books which had their buddies smiling, talking about the pictures and laughing at the funny plots. Thank you again P7!
