P5 Enjoying Shape Week

The focus of this week’s learning in Maths has been shape.

We had fun and also learned lots of new facts.

We found some shape related vocabulary in a pretty tricky Wordsearch…

We learned about isosceles, equilateral, scalene and right angled triangles and got some practice in using a protractor to measure angles.

We studied Wassily Kandinsky who liked to use 2D shapes in his artwork and even had a go at our own Kandinsky inspired art.

The activity we enjoyed the most was making nets of 3D shapes…

Dragon Visit in P1!

On Monday P1 were so excited that the Friendly Dragon had been to visit our classroom and he left us a letter asking if we could help him re-build Fairyland as it has been destroyed!

P1 were delighted to help the dragon and we thought of ways we could help him! We put these in a letter to the dragon!

Today we arrived in our classroom to find out the dragon had sent us back another letter, had read our letters and left us magic beans to help start our first mission to save Fairyland- growing a beanstalk for Jack to climb!

We planted our beanstalks this afternoon and we can’t wait to look after them and watch them grow!

This week in P1…

We have been:

  • Learning the ‘qu’ sound
  • Tricky words- do, old, going
  • How to read and display data
  • All about the Easter Story
  • Enjoying a fun Easter Activity afternoon
  • More French colours

Another busy, fun filled week in P1. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all parents and carers for the continued support during this term.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and I would like to wish you all a very happy and holy Easter.
