Maths Week Dress Down and Hats!

What a fabulous response to Maths week!  Sumdog Challenge, Beeetledrive, Newspaper challenge and lots more was rounded off today with a dress down on a maths/number theme. We took the opportunity to “show off” our Maths Hat creations. Many thanks to everyone who made that extra effort. We “count on” your support!

Math Week Challenge Primary 6

The challenge began by exploring Tessellating Patterns and discovering that they could be made by one or more shapes creating a regular pattern. Then to try to recreate this in your group using the materials provided. An additional challenge was given in the last 5 minutes to see if each group could create a tall structure! Well done Primary 6 some great team work was obvious.

Maths Week!

What a fantastic and busy week we have had here at St Joseph’s celebrating maths week!

From newspaper challenges, building 3D shapes using marshmallows and spaghetti and maths number trails! We have really enjoyed all school and individual class activities!

The costumes for dress down day today were very inventive and we even had our very own human calculator in Primary 2!

The family challenges have been outstanding with family posters, 3D models, a video and even a robot!

Pictures to follow next week…

Please Return Letters/Orders by Friday

The deadline for photograph orders is on Friday 7th September. Please make sure all orders are placed and paid for by this time.

Flu vaccination letters should also be returned by Friday. We would like as many pupils as possible to receive this nasal spray, as it helps to improve the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Thank you.
