For our science morning we were learning about materials and how they act and how they can change. With Mrs Kerr the children learned about solids, liquids and gasses. We experimented with Oobleck slime and discovered that it can change from acting like a solid to a liquid. We had so much fun!

Primary 1 STEM challenge
Prinary 1 were so lucky to have real engineer, Mrs Haigh, work with us on our STEM challenge.
Our Challenge was to use construction materials to build towers that stood on their own and we used measuring devices to make sure they were the correct height. We also had to follow plans to build structures. Mrs Haigh spoke to us about her job as an engineer and we asked her lots of questions.
Eco Garden Club
Meet the Eco Garden Club. Planning and organising projects. Teams wanting to make a difference. Some seeds were planted and what a difference a week makes.
Thank you to all of the parents and grandparents who have volunteered to help out in the garden. I will be in touch very soon. There is still the opportunity to volunteer, just return the letter, send in a note or email the school office with your contact details.
The Jolly Postman
A dragon came to visit P1
The Friendly Dragon visited our classroom. Fairyland is disappearing because no one believes in fairytales anymore. The dragon has asked primary 1 to rebuild fairyland. We were so excited and after some careful planning we got to work. We plan to build a castle, make a beanstalk, grow our own flower garden, make a rainbow and waterfall just to name a few. We would appreciate any donations of cardboard. Keep a look out for regular updates!
P1/2 Fun in Gymnastics
Sewing in P1
The children in primary 1 have started sewing their cushions. We made patterns for our cushions and cut our own material. We then used our new found sewing skills to sew them together and stuff them. The children have worked so hard on this project and have been so proud of their accomplishments.
Change of lunch menu
Next week there will be pancakes for all pupils on Tuesday afternoon and we thank the staff in the kitchen for providing them for us.
On Ash Wednesday the menu will be altered to provide meals with no meat. On the Red tray there will be Macaroni and on the Blue tray it will be Pizza. The Green tray will have a range of sandwiches without meat in the filling. On Thursday the Red tray will have Roast Beef and the Blue tray Kilted Sausages.
