Primary 2 led our assembly today and shared their learning about Katie Morag with everyone. All children contributed and did a fantastic job. Well done, Primary 2!

Primary 1, 1/2 and 2’s Science Morning
With Mrs Preston, the children were investigating which materials are waterproof.  They separated them into ‘waterproof’ and ‘not waterproof’ categories. The children learned about making our investigation a fair test and learned that not waterproof materials soak up water and waterproof materials push water away! It’s was a very fun morning! Emma told us it was the most fun ever!!

Apollo Brainstorming Session
As part of our recent House Meeting, the children from Apollo brainstormed ideas about what makes the perfect school. All children engaged fully with the task and came up with excellent responses such as:
Kind teachers, respectful pupils, colourful displays, hardworking children, fun lessons, happy pupils and many more.
This was for our introduction to learning about becoming a Rights Respecting School. The children will be working very hard to help us become a Rights a Respecting School so look out for future updates.
Books, books, books in P2
Since World Book Day, Primary 2 have been enjoying reading lots of books and  developing their reading skills.
The children have been retelling well known stories using puppets, writing book reviews, illustrating their own front covers and reading for enjoyment in our book corner.

Your prize this week was the House Captain’s choice. After much deliberation,  they decided that your reward is a Mad-Hatter’s Tea Party tomorrow morning (Friday 3rd March). For this could you please bring a hat to wear at your party. Juice and biscuits will be provided .

Congratulations to Enterprise who gained the most house points this week!!
Your Mystery Star Prize is a PJ Party with a movie and popcorn. Â This will take place on Friday morning (24th February) so could all who are in House Enterprise please remember to bring your Pjs on Friday. Â You should come to school wearing your full school uniform as normal.

Primary 2 complete their toys…
Primary 2 completed their toys this afternoon. Â They worked so well together and the finished results were fabulous! The children thoroughly enjoyed being Toymakers!

As part of our Toys topic, Primary 2 have been very busy designing and  making their own toys.  They worked collaboratively, in groups of 3, to carefully design their toys before making them, using household junk.
