What Birds Can You See?

The Children have been feeding the birds outdoors and recording different types of birds we see in the garden. Children have been taking photographs of different types of birds-so far we have had crows, 2 robins, sparrows,  starlings a blue tit and a great tit visit our garden.

I wonder what you could see in your Garden?  Could you take a photo or write down the different birds that visit your garden during the day?

Tag us on twitter or upload them to our learners journal so we can see.

How many ways to play with a box?

The nursery had some kind donations of boxes, which were explored outdoors by the children. But how many ways can you play with a box? Well we had, hide and seek using the box: where children would go in and count to make sure there was no peeking, we had climbing in and out of boxes, turn taking hiding in the box, playing peekaboo with the box, going in, over and through the box and even rolling in a box! The children were developing gross motor skills, building their turn taking skills and developing their language all throughout the fun box play. If you have any resources at home that you no longer have a use for, hand them in and I’m sure the children at Bathgate West can find different ways to play. A huge thank-you to our kind donators. 🙂
