Anti-bullying week

Last week on anti-bullying week we all made a bullying vs conflict poster to show what is conflict and what is bullying to help people understand the difference between conflict and bullying. We made Pudsey masks with our buddies from P3. The whole class watched a video about anti-bullying week just to help us to have a bigger understanding. We learned about odd socks day and why it is an important day and how its relevant to bullying.

P3 Buddies

We made an octopus with our buddies, and they all turned out amazing! We also read a book called octopus shock-topus which tied in with our octopus art. We got a booklet about the book octopus shock topus which had some fun activities and a book review! We got to explore some things inside our read write and learn, bags it had 2x books 1x red pencil 1x notebook 1x whiteboard pen 1x measuring tape and 1x parent club book (isn’t relevant). We got to measure some things with our measuring tape around the classroom.

Pudsey Day

On Children in need day (Pudsey day) everyone got to wear their pj’s to school or something yellow. It was really fun!

P7 Blog Post – Banging Beans

Hi parents it’s the banging beans writing today

Last week we made surveys for the p4 p5 and p6 to do so this week we had to go back in and look at our results!  We analysed the data and  wrote 5 sentences about what our data told us which is know as drawing conclusions.

We have also been hard at work making a project on the rainforest for today and we have been trying to get in the top ten in the sum dog competition. We were super happy that we had a nice long weekend last Monday and Tuesday! Extra sleep time!

Later on in the week, we went on a language learning system and we got assignments to do on language nut.  This is new for us and we reallt enjoyed the games and the fact we can learn a new language too!

In maths we started with some Sumdog then we done our daily 10. Some of us have been revisiting prior skills such as rounding while others are working with understanding the place value of decimals.

Oh at French we did a colour by number in French house and lots more fun things. We have just been told next week we are going a forest walk this sounds exiting in P.E we played hockey on Wednesday and on Thursday we play football which we all enjoy.

 Thats all for now!

Last week in primary 7 we started to learn about the emotion cogs, we focused on emotion words and actions.

Our Math last week was all about “BLAST” Bars, Labels, Axes, Scales, Titles and what this means for bar charts. We also all set ourselves targets for our math and writing.

We started our amazon rainforest writing and done our plan, then we rewrote are introduction.

We even had time to stop and get our school photos done aswell. This will be our last school photo at Falla Hill!

Miss Lynch and Miss Flyn took us for PE on Wednesday we played capture the flag and some team games. Miss Lynch joined in to help even out the teams when we played girls vs boys!

Then later in the week Mrs Pearson and Mrs Doohan took us for PE on Thursday. We played a short game with miss Pearson and played a football match with Mrs Doohan.

In French we were just going over the words we learned before to get a fresh memory and talk to our partner saying hello, how are you, what’s your name. After we done our French puzzle.

On Friday we had our very special house captain assembly, the captain of the kelpies is Grace, and her vice-captain is Calvin, the captain of the Edinburgh castle is Max his vice-captain is Xander and  the captain of the fourth bridges is Beau and his vice-captain is Aureja.

As you can see, we have been very busy! Another group in class will update on our learning next time.

Our first week back but now in Primary 7!

It was nice to be all back together after a long well rested summer away. We have been really busy but here is an idea of some of our activities. Including:

  • All about me – Graffiti Style!
  • Guess the movie soundtrack, thinking about what emotions we feel  and what instrument’s we could hear.
  • Goal setting – we reflected on what were our strengths are areas to work on
  •  Name perspective art – this was tricky but looks good

We also looked at the story ‘the little iceberg’ and did lots of activities such as art and comic strips.

Yesterday we done capture the flag for P.E and all of us really liked it we even wanted to play it again.

We also had a google game competition in class yesterday which was fun too!

We had a lot of fun last week and we hope to share information about what we done every week and we have done a lot more other thing that we enjoy.

P7 Term 2: Sharing the Learning

Well I cannot believe that we are already in November and the speed at which Christmas is approaching while the weeks disappear is scaring me a little!

The children however, do not seem phased and are all working their socks off having made a fantastic start to the work that we are focusing on this term already. 🙂

For example they have already written fabulous persuasive pieces of writing and they have all been providing detailed answers to calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

I am sure they will continue to work hard for the remaining time in term two and we are lucky this term that we have Miss Thorpe working with us, allowing the children to have double input.

Here is an overview of what term two will look like in P7.

Stay safe

Mrs Hunter 🙂

What will I be learning in P7 Term 2

What will we be learning this term in P7?

Primary Seven have made a fantastic start to the new session and all of the children have settled in well to new routines. They have been very busy working on several Health and Wellbeing topics already and I am sure they will continue to shine whilst working on all areas of the curriculum.

Attached is a copy of what we will be focusing on in term 1 and I’m sure they will love sharing their learning with you.
