Primary 1 learning!

Another fabulous week in primary one!
In literacy we were revising the sounds we have learned so far, we practised identifying our vowel sounds in words and made our own vowel trains! We were also matching upper and lower case letters, finding words that rhyme and reciting the alphabet.
Mrs Howley’s class had great fun visiting the school library and looking at different types of books. We enjoyed reading together in small groups.
In our topic work, we discussed old and new toys and their differences. We enjoyed drawing pictures of our favourite toys. Miss Gorman’s class was learning all about toys that use electricity and created amazing electricity safety posters! Our writing this week was ‘If I were a Toy’, we took our inspiration from the Smyths toy advert to write our stories!
Remember the homework is on Seesaw and we are encouraging the children to use Sumdog at home! Please let us know if you have any issues logging on.
Enjoy your weekend. See you all on Monday!
