Quick Quack Quentin needs P2’s help!

This week’s sound was qu so it felt like the perfect week to read one of my favourite stories, Quick Quack Quentin by Kes Gray. If you’re not familiar with the story, poor Quentin has a very quick quack. He has lost his and can only say ‘qu ck’ so he borrows some ‘a’ sounds from other animals. However, they don’t want to share because their names sound a bit odd!

We took the vowels out of our names to see if we would like to help Quentin out…

In Beyond Number, we were using non-standard measures (our hands!) to measure items in the playground.

Why not try measuring some of the things you have at home?

Another week in P1!

Another fantastic week in Primary one!
We had great fun in PE! We were using balls and bean bags to throw at a target and then we counted up our points.
In science we learned about different materials and went on a discovery walk around our school to spot all the different materials in our environment.
We’ve enjoyed pretending to be shop keepers and customers and paying for items with the coins we have been learning about.
This week we were using our creative minds to write some fantastic imaginative stories about an amazing adventure. Some of us went to the moon, visited a princess in a castle and even met our favourite Avenger. What a great time we had on our adventures!
Look at our fantastic creations we made during our free play time, googly eyed creatures and shape patterns. We also created fantastic poopy crafts for remembrance day.
Miss Gormans class enjoyed going into the school library! We found loads of great books and found some of our favourites.
We learned about the letters ‘b’ and ‘h’.
Please check on our sway and seesaw for the new homework activities you can complete at home.
Have a lovely weekend
