Maths

http://www.math-aids.com/
Literacy-
Read the next 2 chapters in your class novel and complete a summary on both of them. Write down 5 interesting questions about your novel to ask your group when you come back to school.
Writing-
Create a story about when Rudolph goes missing the day before Christmas Eve. In your jotters plan who the characters are- what does they look like and act? Where is your story taking place? How does the story start? What is the twist in the middle and how does it end? Does Rudolph get found- how does he get found? Use our story mountain planner example to help you build up your story. Be prepared to discuss your story in class. Remember to use the grammar and punctuation we have learned about in class to up level your work.
Christmas acrostic poem- Create a poem about Christmas with the word Christmas down the left hand side of your jotter.
Christmas Rhyming Poem – Create a Christmas Rhyming Poem. Remember to include similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration and interesting adjectives.
If it’s snowing – Go outside and build a snowman! Take a picture of your snowman and stick the picture to a piece of paper. Then write words to describe the snowman’s personality and appearance around the outside of the picture. Use your words to create a character description.
You could go one step further and write an imaginative story about him/her!
Expressive Arts
Go to a window in your house and using any art material of your choice paints, pencil, pen e.t.c draw what you can see. Remember to think about detail.
New Glow
It is tricky navigating the new Glow site. If you are having any problems please see Mrs Patience. I can’t promise an answer but I will certainly try my best or find someone to help with your question.

Assembly for Yorkhill Hospital – Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House Glasgow provides accommodation for families attending Yorkhill sick childrens Hospital in Glasgow. One of our afternnon pupils has stayed in the house when visiting her little sister who is receiving treatment at the hosptial. We enjoyed attending the assembly to watch the presentation and learn more about the hosptial and the very special house.
Well done to all the children in the school and nursery for raising money for Ronald McDonald House!
Eco Monitors
The children in the nursery are busy learning their jobs as Eco monitors. Our jobs include Litter Pickers, Waste Monitors and Water Monitors. We try hard to recylce our paper and our junk. We are learning what to use the different bins for and have to try hard to remember to feed the worms and the compost bin with our leftover snacks.
Well done all the children in the nursery!
Happy New Year – Year of the Horse
The children in the nursery have been learning all about Chinese New Year. We tried many Chinese foods and had a Chinese restaurant in the nursery. We made dragon puppets and a huge Chinese dragon. We enjoyed having our own parade around the nursery.
