This Week’s Assembly

Well done to all of our families that are continuing to embrace the current circumstances!   We are seeing fantastic work from so many of our pupils and we are amazed at the community spirit we are seeing in Blackburn.  We hope you are all staying safe and well.  Enjoy the nice weather this weekend everyone and we will check in again on Monday! Love from all the staff at Blackburn!

New Scavenger Hunt Now Available!!

Inspired by our latest scavenger hunt, one of our P5 pupils has created their own!

He has been out and painted Rocks which he has then hidden in different locations around Blackburn!

This pupil felt the original scavenger hunt was pretty tricky and wanted to make this one easier by giving people clues!

What fantastic leadership skills and great initiative we are seeing from our pupils!

Celebration Assembly 29/05/20

2020_05_28 Assembly remote learning (1)

Please have a look at the assembly presentation from this week’s assembly.  Can you spot your own picture?  Can you spot work that your friends or buddies have been working on?  There is information going onto Twitter and the blog later today about the INspire challenges and scavenger hunt challenges set by Miss Anderson and one of our P6 pupils!  I hope you all enjoy getting involved with these over the weekend.  Stay safe everyone!

We have a Butterfly!

Hi Children

I’m very excited to share this news with you all. We have a butterfly. It has appeared much quicker than expected and unfortunately I missed it emerging from its Chrysalis. I will have to have a closer eye on them.
I wonder who it is…? Alfie, Cherry, Thing 1 or Thing 2? Have a great weekend everyone ☀️ Jen

A1 and P1 Health and Wellbing Tasks 29/05/20

Hi there boys and girls!

Let’s have a break from working this morning and listen to David Walliams read today’s story:

https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

For health and wellbeing today we are going to be focussing on being healthy.  I know you have all been keeping your body healthy by doing your PE with Joe every morning so today we are going to be thinking about keeping our minds and hearts healthy.

I want you to go onto Storyberries website and read the story called ‘The Inside Book’ by Mathew Griffiths:

https://www.storyberries.com/bedtime-stories-the-inside-book-kids-stories-about-covid-19/

This story focusses on the different feeling you may have about Covid-19.  Please spend some time talking about how you feel or have felt during Lockdown.

Now, I would like you to draw a picture to show your boldest memory of Lockdown.  Write a sentence or two underneath to describe this memory.  Think about what you have been doing while at home and how you have felt.  Remember boys and girls, it is so important to talk to others about your feelings.  Remember that there are always people who want to help you when you are feeling down.  I would like to take another opportunity to thank all of the parents and carers for all your hard work supporting the children throughout this difficult time.  You are doing a great job everyone and we miss you all so much!

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine!

Mrs Bryce

P2/3 RME 29/05/20

It’s Friday and the sun is shining! Let’s finish off our week with some RME. I thought that we could look at some of the important Symbols of Buddhism today. For your task I would  like you to draw the symbols with a little description of what each symbol means and why it is important to Buddhists.

Have a lovely weekend everyone, stay safe and enjoy the sunshine.

Miss McLuckie
