Last week was extremely exciting and busy in P3/2….
We are learning lots about The Radical Romans-we watched a short film about Julius Caesar and learned he had his own army who invaded Britain twice but didn’t build a fort there.
We found out that everyone wore togas. The emperor’s toga was purple ! Leather sandals were worn too even by the soldiers ! You could tell in the towns how important people were by their toga !
We also found out about chariot racing. It was held in a huge stadium where people all went. Before the racing began clowns and acrobats performed. It was a fun day out.
As well as all our Roman work we are delighted to announce Emma Wherrett was our Pupil of the week for her amazing Julius Caesar art and Ben Marr was our class winner for the Scots Poetry competition. Our star writers were Alfie Garvey, Robert Brand and David Starrs. Well done !
Sounds like P3/2 have had a fantastic week learning all the Romans. Megan is certainly enjoying the new topic.
Great hearing what you have all enjoyed learning about this week.
Mia’s comment: I like learning about the Romans and liked looking at all the Gods on the smartboard.
Suvi keeps singing the Romans song – with actions!
My Uncle is in Rome at the moment and has sent me some photos to show the class.
