This week we have started to learn about Julia Donaldson.  We have completed art activities, author research and even had a go creating our own rhyming stories.  Here are our best bits of the week:

Daniel – “I learned that Julia Donaldson wanted to marry her cat when she was wee”

Poppy D – “I know that Julia Donaldson wrote songs before she wrote stories”

Jayden – “Julia Donaldson likes playing the piano”

Breaghannon – “I found out that Julia Donaldson sometimes finds it tricky to write children’s stories, we should never give up”

Leila – “She used to write songs for TV”

Ellie – “My fact about Julia Donaldson is that when she was 5 she was given her first rhyming book.  It made her want to write rhymes”

Leah – “I’ve enjoyed hearing lots of Julia Donaldson stories during milk and story time”

Teigan – “We have been making stick puppets at messy area.  I made a giant”

Emily – “My favourite Julia Donaldson book is ‘What the Ladybird Heard Next’ because I like that the words are rhyming”

Aiden – “I liked making the Gruffalos for the display”

Aaron – “I love reading the books at milk and story, my favourite is Superworm”

Lucy – “I have enjoyed learning music with the Room on the Broom story”

Cameron – “I liked it when we wrote our own song about a frog and a bird”

Poppy F – “I liked using my handprint and using glitter to make a Zog”

Brooke – “I liked when we were doing art stations”

Sarah – “It was messy when I painted my hand.  It was fun too”

Regan – “I liked reading Monkey Puzzle in the library.  Mrs Mansfield used silly voices for the characters”

Rio – “I have liked creating a house for Julia Donaldson.  I had to think about what types of rooms she would need to do her job”

Mason – “I loved singing and learning music”

Rory – “I learned that Julia Donaldson used to live in London”

Millie – “I enjoyed drawing the Tabby McTat picture for the display in the library”
