P5d

It’s Friday! What a great week we’ve had in P5d.

This week we have been learning how to write a biography. We had to use the netbooks and do some research to find facts about Queen Victoria. First we made a timeline then we used a writing planner to record dates and interesting information about Queen Victoria’s life.

Jamie – Using the netbooks made finding fact more interesting. It was cool.

David – I found out that Queen Victoria ruled for 63 years and 7 months

James – Her doctor was Sir James Young Simpson

Aidan – In 1847 Queen Victoria bathed in the sea for the very first time.

In Maths this week we have been going over past learning so that we can remind ourselves of the skills we have learned so far. We are now learning about division and time.

Above and beyond – Zoe wrote a short story at home and she also illustrated it. She brought it into class and we read it at milk time. We all agree it is a fantastic story and if any other class would like to borrow it to read please ask.

That’s all folks! Have a great weekend!

  1. Hi Primary 5d,

Well done, Zoe on doing your own home learning and sharing it with the class. I didn’t know that James Young Simpson was Queen Victoria’s doctor. Isn’t it interesting that Bathgate had a link to the queen during the Victorian era. You’ll all really enjoy the Victorians topic.

    Have a lovely weekend.

    Miss Henderson
