Art and Design S3 Course Outline

Pupils will attend Art & Design 2 periods per week in S3.

 

Expressive Unit

Painting and drawing skills – working from primary sources, building observational skills using the visual elements. To convey ideas, thoughts and feelings through expressive work. Finished work – A2 Investigative drawings sheet, 1 x A3 final solution.

 

Design Unit

The Design Unit will be used towards pupils National 4/5 Art & Design qualification.

Drawing, image manipulation and basic design techniques. Development of graphic design ideas to be used and adapted to a final solution. Finished work 2 x A2 research & development sheets, 1 x A3/A2 final solution. 

 

 

Art & Design Studies

Visual information handling through critical/analytical activity. Encouraging personal response and recording own experiences. Pupils will combine information from worksheets to create finished written booklet.
