Below is a link to a grid we use in Woodpark to assess the progress of each child. It lists each level (colour) of Book Band and where the expected age range and Primary is for that level. This is only one of a number of factors we use in school.
If your child is on a band colour lower than their age please do not panic!
This means that they are needing extra support in either reading or comprehension. It also means that they are getting this support in school.
Please be assured that your child is on the best level (colour) for their development at this stage and that they are getting the best support and chance to confidently progress by being on this level.
