March’s Winners

What an amazing BIG read! Well done and thanks to everyone who participated!

Gateside and Bankhead came joint first, with Auldton in second place and Eastwood in third. The points are now updated. I wonder if anyone can catch Gateside, who have stretched ahead!

March’s Inter-house Competition

To continue our World Book Day celebrations we are holding our first Great House Read! Staff and pupils representing all Houses are challenged to read or listen to as many books as they can by Thursday 30th March. The title and author of each book read or listened to should be recorded on the sheet provided and a signature gained from an adult. Return the sheet to class on the 30th of March and Purton and the House Captains will tot up the total number of books read by all the members in each House. Points will be awarded as usual and the results announced at Assembly on Friday 31st March. Happy Reading everyone!

February’s Inter-house Competition

Teams from Primary 1-3 and 4-7 played in two mini in-school tournaments. Fun was had by all and our thanks must go to our referee, Mrs Duncan! It was so much fun, we may have to do it again in the near future to give other people a turn! The points following Inter-house points were awarded.

1st – Gateside – 4pts

2nd – Bankhead – 3pts

Joint 3rd – Eastwood and Auldton – 2pts each

The Inter-house competition continues to be very competitive and a close run affair, with every still very much in the running!

January’s Inter-house Competition

Our first house competition of 2023 is a Winter photo competition. Take a picture of something wintery and send it to Mrs Purton through your Glow email. Entries will close on Thursday the 26th of January and winners announced at Assembly.

December’s Winners

What an amazing talent show! Thanks must go to both our entrants and our judges. Thank you to Mr Hartley, Miss Wood, Mrs McCheyne and Mrs McLeish for being our guest judges! Thanks to all those who auditioned and particular thanks to our finalists who made it very tricky to judge!

December’s Inter-house Competition

Our final house competition of 2022 is a Woodpark’s Got Talent Competition.

Children can enter acts with friends from the same house as them. We are looking forward to seeing you sing, dance, play musical instruments, perform magic or tell jokes!

Auditions will happen at lunchtime during the week beginning the 12th of December and the whole school will gather to watch our finalists on the afternoon of December 16th. Good luck everyone!

Our next inter-house event is…

3-D Mini World

Create a 3-D mini world. It can be made from card, paper, modelling clay…whatever you have and can create from. Perhaps it could be made inside a shoe box. Good luck everyone! Entries should be handed in by Friday 25th November.

The House and Vice-Captains will choose a winner from their house for P1-P4 and P5-P7 and then the winning house will get 4 points for their house, 2nd will get 3 points, 3rd  2 points and 4th place will get 1 point.
