You will be able to easily find out what level (colour) on the Book Banding Scale your child is currently reading by checking the spine or cover of their book.
For some books it will be printed on the cover and spine.
For others there will be a coloured sticker on the spine and a written label on the front cover at the bottom left.
Below is an excellent resource that has a list of every colour on the Book Band Scale and exactly what we expect the child to be capable of at that level. We hope that in sharing these expectations, it will make it easier for you to share those expectations with your child and support them as they progress through the levels.
