Primary 7 Snow Day Activities

Literacy

Reading:

Use your reading books for this week to complete a reading task from the strategies we use in class:

  • Prior Knowledge – What do I already know about this book? What has happened already?
  • Visualisation – Create a beginning, middle and end comic strip of your chapter.
  • Metalinguistics – Note down any tricky words, then use our strategies to figure out the meaning.
  • Inference – Ask and answer three inferential questions about your book – Remember inference is when we use the clues to help us work out the meaning.
  • Main Ideas – What is the main theme or feeling from this chapter of your book? Use quotations from your book to use as evidence.
  • Summarising – Use 5 sentences to summarise what has happened in the chapters of your book.
