Welcome to the Primary 2 class page!
Term 1 – 2022
I hope you are all ready for a busy, fun and exciting year ahead! It has been so lovely getting to know everyone this week and you all look so smart in your full uniform!
Literacy
We will be learning lots of new double sounds which we will be exploring everyday during spelling time in an active way. We will be working hard to read with more accuracy and fluency, tackling lots of tricky words! In writing, we will be using word banks and word books to build sentences more independently.
Numeracy
This term, we will be focusing on addition and subtraction to 20. We will be using lots of concrete resources to help us learn including Numicon, active games and the interactive whiteboard!
Topic
Our first class topic of the year is… MINIBEASTS!
We will be learning all about minibeasts and their habitats. We can’t wait to get outside and hunt for lots of bugs and even have a go at making some bug hotels. We will be learning about the lifecycle of different minibeasts and might even have some special visitors in the classroom..
Other Information
- PE – Wednesdays & Fridays
- Home links should be brought to school everyday.
- Homework tasks will be set for the week on a Monday and will be collected on a Friday.
