International school meals day is being celebrated on 14th March and Woodpark will once again be taking part!
International School Meals Day is a unique campaign with the aim of raising awareness of good nutrition for all children regardless of their circumstances, some of its main aims are detailed below:
• Raise awareness of the importance of the nutritional quality of school meal programs worldwide.
• Emphasise the connection between healthy eating, education and better learning.
• Connect children around the world to foster healthy eating habits and promote well-being in schools.
The menu on the day will be influenced by the pupils in each school with the items being chosen from the current winter menu.
A reminder that next week the school will be closed to children on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (11th, 12th and 13th).
The school reopens to children as normal on Thursday 14th February.
The school this week received a certificate of thanks from St Andrew’s Hospice for our Teddy Toddle fundraising activities.
We managed to raise a fantastic £664!
A HUGE well done to all of our finalists who took part in the poetry competition last Friday! They were all truly fantastic, and thank you so much to everyone who helped their child to learn their poem! It was a very difficult task for every teacher choosing the final 16.
A big congratulations to Stuart (P3), Cayden (P6) and Aaron (P1/2) who the school captain judges choose as their 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
Well done everyone
