Toasty Tuesdays and Thursdays!

The school is starting a healthy snack initiative where the children can buy slices of toast and butter at break times on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The toast will cost 10p a slice, be available from the dinner hall and will be served by parent helpers! Please check your child’s homelink in the coming days for a letter with more information.

Fair Trade Fortnight

This year Woodpark will be supporting ‘Fair Trade Fortnight’ on Wednesday 27th February and Wednesday 6th March. More details to follow soon!

International School Meals Day

International school meals day is being celebrated on 14th March and Woodpark will once again be taking part! International School Meals Day is a unique campaign with the aim of raising awareness of good nutrition for all children regardless of their circumstances, some of its main aims are detailed below: •             Raise awareness of the importance of the nutritional quality of school meal programs worldwide. •             Emphasise the connection between healthy eating, education and better learning. •             Connect children around the world to foster healthy eating habits and promote well-being in schools. The menu on the day will be influenced by the pupils in each school with the items being chosen from the current winter menu.

Valentine’s Disco

The Woodpark Valentine’s Disco takes place next Thursday (14/2) from 6:30pm – 8pm. All children must be picked up by an adult at 8pm as usual.

Holiday

A reminder that next week the school will be closed to children on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (11th, 12th and 13th). The school reopens to children as normal on Thursday 14th February.

St Andrew’s Hospice

The school this week received a certificate of thanks from St Andrew’s Hospice for our Teddy Toddle fundraising activities. We managed to raise a fantastic £664!

Burns Celebration

A HUGE well done to all of our finalists who took part in the poetry competition last Friday! They were all truly fantastic, and thank you so much to everyone who helped their child to learn their poem! It was a very difficult task for every teacher choosing the final 16. A big congratulations to Stuart (P3), Cayden (P6) and Aaron (P1/2) who the school captain judges choose as their 1st, 2nd and 3rd! Well done everyone

P7 Holocaust Assembly

The Primary 7 Holocaust assembly will take place next Thursday (7/2) at 10am. Parents and carers of the Primary 7 children are welcome to attend.

Committees

Woodpark Committees will once again meet this Friday. Remember to ask your child what committee they are in and what they got up to!
