Hello Woodpark!
As you know we would all usually be in training for Sports Day coming up. Since we cannot all be together for our Sports Day this year, we thought we could all have one at home!
But oh no…not just a day – an entire week! Starting next Monday, we have five full days of fun challenges for you to try at home in the link below and each day you can try the activities as best as you can.
Woodpark Sports Day LinkBUT WAIT…that’s not all!
Every activity you do, ask an adult or someone else to either film it or take a picture of your doing it. Then you can email all your photos and videos each day to wp@glow.sch.uk , and each day we will put a great big video of all your activities online for everyone to enjoy! Make sure to write your name AND your house somewhere in the email too!
Have fun everyone and we cannot wait to see all the action!
Book Week Scotland begins tomorrow in Woodpark!
A reminder that during playtime children will be able to go to the Big Book Swap. They are allowed to bring in any books and swap them for any new books they like the look of – simple!
We already have an excellent collection of books in the Book Swap, but would really appreciate any books people are able to donate. This is a great way of encouraging the children to enjoy reading and have books in their lives.
Books can either be sent in school bags or can be handed into the office if they are too heavy!
Thank you for your support as always.
Next week the children will be taking part in the whole week of activities to celebrate Book Week Scotland. Please check your child’s homelink for a letter explaining some of the events including the return of our ‘Get Caught Reading’ game!
To submit a photo of your child reading in a weird and wonderful place, please click the yellow Book Week Scotland image on the home page of the website!
This Friday (25/1) for our Burns Day celebrations, the children are invited to wear something tartan to school such as ribbons or ties.
This is not a dress down day and children should be in full school uniform as normal with the exception of their tartan item!
‘MAD’ Week takes place next week in Woodpark and as always there will be lots of fun and exciting activities happening throughout. Please look out for the white letter in your child’s homelink that tells you how you can get involved!
All children were given a letter and a poster explaining every going on in school next week. If anyone would like to take part in the ‘Get Caught Reading’ photo competition, please click the Book Week image on the website home page to directly email your picture from your phone!
Book Week Scotland will take place the week beginning 26th November. We have decided to move it back by a week to allow us to have a full 5 day week to fit everything in!
A letter explaining everything that is happening and how you can get involved will be coming home next Tuesday (20th).
