As we head into the long weekend, we would urge all parents and carers to remain aware of online activity among your children. Online learning has massively increased the use of cameras – in particular your child’s ability to use them. With this inevitably comes risks and dangers from people taking advantage of the situation.
There is a TikTok viral going around today encouraging children to visit the website omegle.com
This is a website where anyone is randomly matched to someone else and they are instantly connected via webcam. This of course is dangerous and could easily expose your children to the worst of the internet, so please remain vigilant.
We would strongly encourage everyone to use the long weekend to –
- Speak to the children about remaining safe online
- Review your parental settings on your wifi/devices
- Check in with your child’s device in terms of apps and people they have ‘added’ on these apps.
In school we always state if they do not physically know the person, they should not be their contact in an app and should not be able to contact them.

We wish to reassure our parents/carers that provision will be made to enable learning to continue at home should your child be absent due to Coronavirus symptoms or self-isolation reasons.
Please see the letter in your child’s homelink today.
Thank you for your patience whilst we work to make this available to our children and families. We aim for this to be in place by the end of this week.
Keep up to date on the school app and website.
Following advice given by South Lanarkshire Council, parents’ evenings, events and extra-curricular activities (after school clubs) are cancelled until further notice.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Letters will be coming out in the near future for Parents Evening. The dates this year are Wednesday 25th March and Thursday 26th March.
If anyone is able to donate trousers for our swap rail in the main entrance we would really appreciate it…we are running low!
