Jotter Collections

A reminder that tomorrow and Thursday (3rd & 4th of February) we invite you to attend the school if your child is running low on space and needs any new jotters to support their online learning.

Time slots for jotter collection on these days are between 10-11am and 1-2pm. Please attend the main school office and observe social distancing.

Face Coverings

Dear Parents/Carers,

Updated guidance has been issued by the Scottish Government, which now states that facecoverings should be worn by all adults picking up/dropping off children at school and nursery settings.

We thank you for your cooperation with this.

Mrs D MacKenna, HT.

IMPORTANT – COVID 19 EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBER INFORMATION

We are fortunate that, to date, we have not had any positive coronavirus cases within our school community.

It is vital that we are informed of any positive cases. If any member of the school community has a POSITIVE Covid-19 test please use the emergency number sent out today via the school app to inform the school out of hours (evenings, weekends, holidays)

Please only use this number for reporting a POSITIVE Covid-19 test result. This number is for no other reason.

Should there be a positive case identified within the school community, agreed Test and Protect protocols will be followed which includes contacting any relevant families as identified by NHS Lanarkshire.

Thank you.

Mrs D MacKenna, Head Teacher

Google Classroom Help

We understand that some people have been having issues this afternoon trying to get onto Google Classroom. There are a few common causes for this…

  • Your child’s account may have jumped onto a different account during the sign in process.
  • You may have to put a different ending (@sl.glow.scot instead of @glow.sch.uk) when signing directly into the Google Classroom app.

All problems that we have encountered in the past, including the two above, are explained in the section below. Please watch the videos and follow the guides for help.

Resource Return

On Monday (22/6) we are asking everyone to return the resources that have been given out during the closure. This is to ensure that our new books are ready for use again next year and we have all workbooks etc as evidence of achievement. Items to be returned –
  • All reading books
  • All maths workbooks
  • Maths jotters that were used previous to the closure
Items not to be returned –
  • New jotters given out for the closure
  • Stationery (pencils, rubbers, highlighters etc)
Below is a timetable for when each class should return resources and the system of doing so.
  1. Enter the main entrance (1 family at a time)
  2. Read out the books you are returning. We have a list of each book every child has on the computer and a member of staff will tick each book against your child’s name.
  3. Place each book in the box marked with your child’s class.
  4. Return any other resources to the same box, letting the member of staff know what is being returned.
