Parental Involvement and Engagement – Update

It seems like a lifetime ago we asked you for your views around parental involvement and engagement.  I would like to give you an update on some of the things that came out of the questionnaire we sent out.  In total we received 14 returns so thank you to the families that completed this as it really does help us plan and respond to the needs of our school.

We asked you if you currently feel supported in engaging in your child’s life at school.  More than one person could reply to this per family so in total we had 15 people who responded yes to this.  Three people replied sometimes and we had no replies that said they did not feel supported.

Some comments relating to this:

“As it’s my child’s first year and has only been in a few months so not sure this is applicable but from what I have seen so far VP is open and inclusive for parents”.

“I feel supported in engaging out our child’s life at school because I am always kept up to date with my child’s diary at school.  There is always someone available at school if I need to ask any questions.”

We also asked do you currently feel supported in knowing how to support your child to be the best they can be at home?  14 replied to say yes and three replied to say sometimes.  There were zero responses for no.

Comments around this question were:

“Yes because she is turning out to be a great little girl.”

“I have a great support system at home from professionals to family members.”
