Santa Messages

We would like to give our huge thanks to Biggar Young Farmers for tracking down Santa (with his cheeky elves) and filming him making a special message for each of our children.

We want to wish all of our children, families and staff and lovely restful Christmas.  Santa told us that you are all on the nice list and he will be bringing you some special things on Christmas Day!

Please keep an eye on the OneCarluke Facebook page as Santa will also be making a special message to our school at 6:30pm on Christmas Eve

Happy Halloween at Victoria Park School

We have been having lots of spooktacular fun at Victoria Park School.  Each class decorated a pumpkin and the children went on a pumpkin and spider hunt around the school.

Our children also took part in some spooky Halloween activities in school – have a look!

Bookbug Primary 1 Family Bag

Book Week Scotland runs from 16th  – 22nd November this year.  It is a national celebration of books and reading, bringing bestselling authors to you online, exciting activities into your community and spread the joy of reading and listening to stories.  Our P1s (Room 2) will be receiving their very own Bookbug Primary 1 Family Bag soon which has 3 great books for you to share with your children.

Call Scotland have linked in with the Scottish Book Trust and provided resources to support you sharing these books with your children.  You can also get digital versions of the books to read on computer or tablet.

Scarecrow Competition

To reflect the Community Development Trust’s Scarecrow Competition we had a scarecrow competition in our school.

Well done to all of the children and staff for making such interesting and innovative scarecrows.  The winners were Room 8 with this great scarecrow wearing our school uniform!!!

Community Links

Room 6 made a card and a spring plant pot for Woodhurst Care Home in Carluke.  We usually visit Woodhurst and sing songs to the residents but unfortunately due to restrictions we are not able to do so right now.

Room 4 also made some beautiful colourful rocks to put in the “Wall of Hope” that’s been put at the bottom of the High Street in Carluke.  We can’t wait to see them in place!

Thank You to Tesco

During the lock down period Tesco delivered resources to help out our pupils who were using our hub.  Room 3 made Tesco this very special thank you card for providing us with a variety of items to help our pupils including sand, bubbles and colouring books.
