Assessment and tracking progress are an integral part of the teaching and learning process. A continuous process of assessment is utilised throughout St. Mary’s Primary School to measure pupils’ progress.
Assessment helps to provide a picture of a child’s progress and achievements and to identify next steps in learning. Assessment approaches promote learner engagement and ensure appropriate support so that all learners can achieve their learning goals and maximise their potential.
Information on learners’ progress is recorded. This allows teachers to have a clear picture of how learners are progressing. It will also allow teachers to identify next steps in learning and inform reporting on progress and achievement.
Parents may contact the school to discuss their child’s progress at any time. If the school has any concerns we will contact the parents.
