We give homework in order to:
- promote self reliance, self discipline and confidence.
- promote independent learning by encouraging the child to take responsibility for their personal progress.
- encourage parents, carers and the school to work in partnership for the benefit of the child.
- encourage children to realise that learning takes place outside the class.

A guide on times spent for homework
Spelling | 5 minutes per night, three times a week |
Mental maths | 5 minutes per night, three times a week |
Reading | 15 minutes per book. All pupils can access on-line Reading Books and activities via the Reading Eggs app. |
Interdisciplinary Learning/Topic | 10 – 30 minutes appropriate to the task |
Google Classrooms
All pupils now access homework online via Google Classrooms.
- Advises of the homework set for the week. If children wish feedback on homework, they can message their teacher or upload a picture of their work.
