The Care Inspectorate regulate and inspect care services in Scotland to make sure that they meet the right standards. It also works with providers to help them improve their service and make sure everyone gets safe, high-quality care that meets their needs.
The Care Inspectorate give care services grades when they inspect them, and look at key areas like care and support, physical environment, quality of staffing, and quality of management and leadership. Each area of each care service is assessed on a scale from 1 to 6, where 1 in unsatisfactory and 6 is excellent.
