Conference of Schools 2, February 2024

Since August 2021, the SLC Youth Forum on Climate Change and Sustainability has been at the forefront of numerous impactful initiatives aimed at addressing climate change and promoting sustainability.

During 2023-2024, the forum directed its efforts towards delivering a second climate conference, this time focusing on S1 to S3 students, under the theme “A RESET” (Attire, 3Rs, Energy, Shopping, Eating and Travel) providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the practical steps individuals can take to combat climate change. The conference, held in February 2024, drew participation from 240 students representing 17 secondary schools in South Lanarkshire. It featured keynote speakers who provided valuable insights into climate issues and a workshop on Green Careers, provided by Scottish Power, aimed at inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders.
