Forensics for Schools- Crime Scene Examination

An opportunity to work with Skibinski and Orr, Senior Scene Examiners who would lead staff at examinations of serious crime scenes, to deliver an engaging workshop suitable for P5-P7.

 

This workshop would cost £195 per school. It is advised that this is the costing for one class attending the workshop. If you wish for them to deliver to a few classes within the same day, a costing can be negotiated.

Possible workshop timings below but they are happy to adapt if required.

  • 08.30    Arrive at location and meet your contact.
  • 08.45    Enter classroom or area for demo/lecture/crime scene to prepare the mock scene.
  • 09.10    Teacher to introduce  Skibinski and Orr.
  • 09.15    Commence lecture with introduction to Skibinski and Orr. Who they are, experience etc.
  • 09.25    “The role of a Crime Scene Examiner.”  Possible Powerpoint?  
  • 09.45      Introduce the students to the mock crime scene. Ray and Ewart will role play two crucial participants in the examination of a major crime scene.
  • 09.55 – 10.25     Examination of the scene with S and O leading the students through the whole scene. They may ask for volunteers to participate as investigators and have them wear “white suits” and gloves. They will ensure that the student participants are able to find fingerprints, footwear impressions and blood! 
  • 10.30 – 10.40 Questions and wind-down and clean up after the students before departing.
