Daily Mile

This morning we started the daily mile. The daily mile is when we walk a mile around the school each morning. We have to walk around the football pitch, around the multi court and around the playground five times and then we have done a mile. We will try to do it every day, depending on the weather we might not get to do it. We are allowed to walk or run.  Some people do more than a mile some people do two miles and some people just do a mile. But you have to do at least a mile. The daily mile is fun.

First Week Back

On the 8th of January it was the Scalloway Fire Festival.  The Jarl Squad came to visit us. The costumes were green. They looked very good. They sang  the Up Helly Aa song and some other songs and then we got to go around the hall and try on their helmets and hold their axes and shields. We really enjoyed their visit. On Monday after lunch we got to go down to the hall with P6/7 to do Zumba.  We learned two routines. We will be  doing Zumba every Monday for 3 weeks. This morning we went on the bus to the Scalloway Swimming pool for swimming lessons. We got changed and then we all sat on the side. Mr McNiven our PE teacher took a few of us in the pool at a time and then we had to do some front crawl and back stroke. After that we all got in the pool and we got numbers. First the number ones did either 6 widths or 4 widths. Then the number twos did the same. We did a bit more of that then we swam underwater and then we went for a shower. We will be going again next week.

The Play

On Thursday the 10th of December we did our Christmas play. We have been doing lots of rehearsals. It was called the 12 Days of Christmas. The story was about Mr Partridge’s Amazing Performing Troupe, Father Christmas, Mrs Christmas, Mo Christmas, Nasty Grimgrump, Mrs Grimgrump and Jo Grimgrump. There was lots of songs in the play.  There was also lots of characters. There was 12 lords, 11 ladies, 10 drummers, 9 pipers, 8 maids, 7 swans, 6 geese, 5 gold rings, 4 colley birds, 3 French hens, 2 turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree in Mr Partridge’s troupe. I was a maid in the play. The decorations were very good and so were all the costumes. Most of the play went very well except from the part when the CD broke and we had to get another one.

Visitors to Primary 4/5

We had elves visit our classroom last night, they sent us a sneaky visit of their visit. They left footprints though so we could see where they had been.

They even left us a note!

This is what it said.

The robin appeared in our classroom in the middle of the day when we were singing Christmas carols, it must have been visiting Santa again to tell him how we are getting on.

magic robin!

We have a robin in our class room. yesterday we saw the robin next to the cupboard but today when we were practicing our songs when suddenly someone spotted the robin on top of the projector! It was very mysterious. this morning the robin went to tell Santa and some people were a bit naughty.

THE END!

This is a true story.

LAST DAY OF TERM!!!!!!!!!

Today we watched Hercules. We watched it for our project myths and legends. It had lots of myths in it. The whole class really  enjoyed it. At golden time we watched matilda when we were watching it then the teachers moved all the stuff in our class room in to p67 so we can get our new carpet. It was good today because its our last day of term. Before we watch matilda then we got some harry bows. They were so yummy. WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR DAY!!!!!!!!
