Remembrance Day Poppies

img_2947Today with mrs Mouat, we made paper poppies. What you have to do is get a poppy template, and get some tissue paper petal shapes. You also need glitter (optional) and a leaf crepe paper shape. You need to glue the petal shapes between the template flower shape’s petals and (you need a black paper circle and some small black napkin pieces) then you put the black paper circle in the middle and glue. You can (optionally) glue the small napkin pieces scrunched up in balls onto the black paper circle like seeds. (Ps. Ms mainland, is it alright if I put this here?)

P6A – Our Election Views

2016-election

Nula and Libby spent some time yesterday recording our class views on the recent US Presidential Election. (Vaila’s recording was too long to upload, so it is available via the password-protected link)

My Book!

untitledHELLO! My name is VailaMeowMeow001 and I’ll be giving you a sneak peek of my book. I started writing my book in P5, so then it was called5A’s Trip To the Zoo.But now it’s called 6A’s Trip to The Zoo. I am currently writing chapter twelve, and I’m planning for it to actually be long. Here’s chapter one. CHAPTER ONE: A BIG SURPRISE: It was a regular school- day. The bell rang for home time, but 6A had to get a letter. “Boring!” Lisa whispered to josh.
“What’s so boring about a letter?” asked josh.
“They’re never exciting.” said lisa.
“You do have a point,” said josh, “But this is sooooooooo exciting!”
“Why?” asked lisa.
“READ it you moron,” replied josh.
“OK, OK,” lisa said, angrily.
It said ‘6A will be going to Edinburgh for a trip to the zoo, on the 21st of june 2016! “THE ZOO!” CRIED LISA, making the whole class stare at her. “quiet!” said Ms Mainland.
*********************************************************************************************************************************************
On the way home from school, Vaila cried to Sunni, “OH MY GOSH. Edinburgh! The zoo! The trip! OOF! cried vaila as she banged into a lamp- post. “Careful where you’re going!” Cried Sunni. Suddenly they heard a shout. It was Louise.

That’s all I will tell you today! When you’ve read this please tell me in the comments and when all 18 people in the class have read this I will move on to chapter two! Bye!

Northumberland Musicians

Last Thursday a Northumberland music group came to our school. They showed us Northumberland small pipes which you use your arm to push down on the airbag to make the sound. You don’t blow into them like Scottish bagpipes. The Scottish bagpipes are louder than the Northumberland pipes.

There was also a mandolin, a harp, guitars, flutes, violins, cello, keyboard and a box drum in the group. We liked the fiddle players the best because they were the loudest and you could hear them very well over the other instruments.
