Cake Decorating Club

This week was fondant icing week! We had to cover a cake in fondant icing which was quite tricky. We had to roll out the icing to the correct thickness then lift it onto the cake without ripping it! We then had to smooth the icing over the cake and cut away the extra bits of icing. Once our cakes were iced we made some decorations to put on top. It was great to have some pupils from Urafirth School join us for cake club. 🙂

Thank-you!

Thank-you to everyone who came to see our Christmas concert. It was a frosty night so it was brilliant to see the hall so full. Thank-you to everyone who helped by baking and donating raffle prizes etc. A fantastic £217 was raised for our school fund. Thank-you so much for your kindness and generosity!

Christmas Concert… behind-the-scenes!

On Monday 14th December we had our Christmas concert in the North Roe Hall. It was a fantastic night, all the bairns hard work paid off! We had weeks of singing, rehearsals, painting back drops, making props etc but it was all worth it in the end. Here’s some pictures of us preparing for the night!

Senior Citizens Christmas Party!

On Friday we had a Christmas party at the school for all the senior citizens in our community. The bairns sang Christmas songs and everyone enjoyed having a slice of the Christmas cakes the bairns baked with a cup of tea.

Baking Christmas Cakes

We baked two Christmas cakes for the senior citizens party we had at the school on Friday. We baked the cakes on Wednesday then on Thursday we covered them in marzipan and icing. On Friday we made holly and snowflake decorations to put on top. We all got a slice of cake at the party!
